Do you Have Questions?
What is an MSDS and why do I need one?
An MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) provides essential safety information about a product, including its composition, hazards, handling requirements and emergency procedures. UK and EU regulations require suppliers to provide MSDS for chemical and metallurgical products. Our MSDS documents are required by manufacturers, importers and end-users handling our lead, tin and solder products to ensure safe storage, use and disposal.
Are your MSDS documents up to date?
Yes. We review and update our Material Safety Data Sheets in line with current UK REACH regulations, GHS classification and CLP (Classification, Labelling and Packaging) requirements. The version downloaded from this page is the current published version. If you require a specific historical version, please contact our team.
What's the difference between MSDS Lead Free Solder and MSDS Leaded Solder?
MSDS Lead Free Solder covers our lead-free tin-based solder alloys, which contain no lead. MSDS Leaded Solder covers traditional tin-lead solder alloys (e.g., 60/40, 50/50). Each has different handling, storage and regulatory requirements, so download the MSDS specific to the product you're using.
Do you have ISO 9001 certification?
Yes. Heaps, Arnold & Heaps Ltd holds ISO 9001:2015 certification, demonstrating our commitment to quality management standards. The certificate is available for download on this page and is regularly renewed through audit. Our quality management system covers all manufacturing operations at our Rotherham facility.
What is the EP Permit and why is it relevant?
Our Environmental Permit, issued by Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council under the Pollution Prevention and Control Act 1999, authorises our scheduled installation operations. It demonstrates our compliance with environmental regulations governing emissions, waste and process control at our manufacturing facility.
Can I share these documents with my team or supply chain?
Yes. MSDS documents are intended to be shared throughout the supply chain — from supplier to end-user. Our certifications and policy documents may also be shared with customers, auditors or regulatory bodies as required. Please use the most current versions downloaded from this page.
Do you provide product specifications and technical data sheets?
Product specifications and technical details are available on each individual product page. For application-specific technical data, contact our team with your specification — we'll provide the relevant technical documentation, alloy compositions, and dimensional data for your project.
What does your Environmental Policy cover?
Our Environmental Policy outlines our commitment to minimising environmental impact across all operations, including emissions control, waste management, energy efficiency, sustainable sourcing and continual improvement. We comply with relevant environmental legislation and our processes are subject to regular auditing.
What does your Health & Safety Policy cover?
Our Health & Safety Policy outlines our commitment to providing a safe working environment for employees, contractors and visitors. It covers risk assessment, training, equipment maintenance, emergency procedures and compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and related regulations.
